When I first sniffed it directly from the bottle, I was briefly transported to a place in my mind I didn’t know existed: calm, peaceful, and completely free of clutter. Very rarely do oils have such an immediate impact on me that’s simultaneously clarifying and emotionally soothing. Energetically, Australian Balm Mint Bush feels somehow sophisticated and has a certain “cephalic” quality, similar to rosemary, only more centering (and without the culinary associations!). Aromatically, it shares some notes with Eucalyptus Peppermint Gum except it’s much greener, fresher, lighter. The aroma is pronounced but complex and can have different effects depending on what you blend it with. On a hot summer’s day, it’s wonderfully cooling when diffused with minty-herbaceous or citrusy oils. It also smells great with woods and florals, as well as on its own. A beautiful oil indeed.
