CO2 EXTRACTED OILS

CO2 extracted oils (carbon dioxide extracted oils) are obtained by using a unique extraction process called supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. Liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) acts as a solvent to extract the oil from plants. When the extraction process is completed, the liquid CO2 is brought back to gas state, leaving behind an impeccably pure oil free of solvents.

CO2 extracted oils are very close in chemical composition to the original plant from which the oils are derived. CO2 extracted oils contain a wider range of aromatic compounds than oils obtained by other distillation processes.
